Kern Pratt, a Mississippi Delta native, brings the Blues alive every time he starts to play. He surrounds himself with some of the most talented musicians that Mississippi has to offer & provides you with a performance like no other!

Kern, now residing in Jackson, has performed with artists such as the late & great Willie Foster, Mamie “Galore” Davis, Lil’ Bill Wallace, Mississippi Slim, Hubert Sumlin, Lil’ Dave Thompson, James “T-Model” Ford, Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds, Percy Sledge, Eden Brent, Steve Azar, & Grammy Award winner Bud Cockrell lead vocalist for Pablo Cruise. These musicians were a great influence on his musical career.

Kern Pratt has opened shows for the likes of BB King, Bo Diddley, Johnny Winter, Delbert McClinton, Eddie Cotton, Bernard Jenkins, King Edward Antoine, Dorothy Moore, Bobby Rush, Gregg Alman, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Deborah Coleman, Nantuckett, Elvin Bishop, Rick Nelson. Kenny Neal, Dr. John, Muddy Waters All Star Band, Eddie Money & the late Bobby “Blue” Bland.

There are many festivals Kern Pratt has played in, including The Mississippi Picnic which takes place in Central Park in New York City. The Mississippi Delta Blues Festival, the Annual Juke Joint Festival in Clarksdale, MS, Batesville Music Fest in Batesville, MS, the Annual BB King Homecoming and the Sam Chatman Festival are just a few more festivals worthy of mention.

Denise Owen – Vocalist performing with Kern Pratt 
 Denise began singing at a very early age with Gospel Groups, Barbershop Quartets and the Sweet Adeline’s, cutting her first 45 record at age 10 with her Dad.  Her singing career includes a variety of music styles. 

 Performing a year in Nashville, Denise opened the John Carter Cash Birthday Celebration, sharing the stage with such famous stars as Johnny Cash, June Carter Cash, the Gatlin Brothers, the Kentucky Head-Hunters, The Oakridge Boys, little Jimmy Dickens and Bill Monroe.

Denise has perfected her unique sound with her Dad’s acclaimed band, The Owen Brothers.  In 2007 she performed with the Owen Brothers Band for Mississippi’s First Lady, Marsha Barbour’s 67’ class reunion, held at the Governors’ Mansion.   For several years she performed with the classic rock band, Dreamer.  She performed with Tooz & Company and was lead singer for the dynamic, powerhouse, The Carlton South Carolina Show Band, who, in addition to many local venues, has been the opening act for Diamond Rio, Shenandoah and Traci Lawrence.

Presently she performs with the Kern Pratt and the Accused band as a lead singer. She also performs with Kern Pratt as a Duo. With Kern Pratt she has been on many festivals, private parties and corporate events and tours extensively. Denise worked with Kern Pratt on his album Broken Chains which was #1 on the Roots Music Mississippi Chart for Blues. She is a member of the Recording Academy.
