CORNELIUS MIMS

Cornelius “Corney” Mims is regarded as one of L.A.’s truly “elite" bass players and band leaders. Cornelius is bass guitarist at Dennis Jones Band and Program Director at The Roderick D. Jones Memorial Scholarship Foundation. He is also Band Leader at Corney Mims & The Knowitallz.

Cornelius has roots in the Mississippi Delta in Belzoni, Mississippi and has lived and worked in Los Angeles for many years. His career has taken him all over the world and as a famed bass player and also multi-instrumentalist. 

 

Cornelius Mims work is heard from Gladys Knight, LL Cool J, Phil Collins, Michael Jackson, Mary J. Blige, and the MSXII Soulful Stems Series, just to name few. Cornelius has actually had his talents throughout the most classic records all of us have heard including two Grammy albums by Fantastic Negrito. The critically acclaimed 2016 debut album The Last Days Of Oakland (recipient of a Best Contemporary Blues Album Grammy Award and Fantastic Negrito’s Grammy album Please Don't Be Dead
